October: Biking trip (Silver Comet Trail)
November: Chattooga River hike / backpacking trip
December: District Yule Log camporee
January: Snow Skiing
February: Polar Bear campout (hiking / base camp)
March: Troop Shooting Sports Weekend
April: Horseback riding campout
May: Climbing Campout
June: Summer Camp at Camp Rainey Mountain
June/July: Philmont Trek or Cavalcade, Sea Base Sailing Cruse, or Northern Tier Canoeing (BSA high adventure trips for Scouts out of 8th grade or older than 14)

Troop elections are held every 6 months to allow boys the opportunity to earn leadership positions. New scouts are in a “new scout” patrol. In our troop’s TNT (The New Scout Trail) program, Scouts work with Assistant Scoutmasters and Troop Guides to learn how to function as a patrol within the troop. This program allows them the opportunity to earn Scout, Tenderfoot, 2nd Class and 1st Class ranks within a year of entering the troop.

Adults are expected / encouraged to participate in one of 4 ways:
1) Assistant Scoutmaster, 2) Committee Member, 3) Merit Badge Counselor, or 4) parent volunteer assisting with Courts of Honor / Christmas Banquet, etc. Adults on campouts become part of the “Timberjack Patrol,” functioning as an ideal patrol as an example for the scouts (and yes, we eat very well!) All adult volunteers must complete online BSA Youth Protection Training.
